I love it when friends and family send me articles. Although a part of me thinks they just do it to get a shout out. You know, because my blog is like the Perez Hilton of health blogs. Thousands (millions!) of people read it every day.

OK, more like tens of people.

But, anyway I’d still like to say THANKS BRIDGET for sending this article along.

Now, bask in the instant fame and glory that shout out will garner you for the next, ohhhh, 5 minutes.

OK, so this article I’m talking about has to do with Crohn’s disease. Never heard of it? All the more reason for you to read it.

I didn’t know too much about it either, until I decided to run a half marathon back in January. I ran with a team that raised money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.

I really had no idea what this disease was, or how many people it affects. Talk about living in a bubble.

Come to find out, A LOT of people suffer from this disease…even some within my own circle of friends. Which is why I think this article…well, the campaign the article talks about…is so great. It’s putting names and faces on an otherwise under-the-radar disease. So check it out, and pass it along to anyone you know who might be afflicted by Crohn’s.

And if any of you score a speaking gig with the campaign, tell them Lindsay sent you. (That’s me.)

So, nice job, UCB, for taking a step in educating the public about this disease. For that, you get a thumbs up. Or a high five. Whichever tickles your fancy.
